The Legislative Branch

Learn about the Legislative Branch and the National Assembly.

An outline of the National Assembly is shown above.

The Legislative Branch

The Legislative Branch is tasked with drafting the laws of the Federated States of Gapla and guiding the nation’s policy towards the will of the people.

This branch comprises eleven members out of the twenty members of the National Assembly, Gapla’s combined executive and legislative body. Following the dissolution of the Provisional Government, these members will be elected annually through party-list proportional representation by all adult citizens, however, the power of the legislative branch is currently vested in the Provisional Government.

The Prime Minister, the leader of the legislative branch, will be chosen from one of the eleven legislative seats in the National Assembly. They are currently the leader of the governing coalition in the Provisional Government.
